Maha Shivaratri

Our temple is observing Maha Shivaratri Vaibhavam on Sunday,March 06 2016.

Maha Shivaratri or Shivratri Utsav is a famous Hindu festival in honor of Lord Shiva, one of the Trimurtis in Hinduism. Sivaratri, which literally means “Great Night of Shiva” or “Night of Siva”, is observed on the 13th night/14th day in the Krishna Paksha on the month of Phalgun (February – March) in the Hindu Calendar. Mahashivaratri is celebrated on the night before Amavasya, the night before and day of the new moon.

We are also pleased to inform you that the temple is organizing an Egadhina Laksha Archanai for Lord KailasaNathar on the auspicious day of Shivaratri  at 8:00 AM.

Following Poojas are also being scheduled:

Pradhosha Pooja, Rudhrabishekam, Special Archanai, Vedha Parayanam, Sangu Abhisheka Pooja, Panchakashara Jabam, Rudhra Jabam and Much more.

Shivaratri Pooja has been given tremendous significance in Hindu mythology. It is believed that the people who fast on this night and offer prayers to Lord Shiva bring good luck into their life. Devotees further believe that by pleasing Lord Shankara on the auspicious Shivaratri day, a person is absolved of past sins and is blessed with Moksha or salvation.

All devotees are cordially invited to attend with family and friends and partake the blessings of Lord Kailasanathar. Those who are willing to sponsor are requested to contact the temple directly.
