Upakarma, a Vedic ritual, is conducted once a year during Shravan/Avani month, when Brahmins ritually change their Yagnopaveetam, or sacred thread accompanied by relevant rituals such as offerings to the Rishis. On the following day, the Gayatri Mantra is recited 1008 times.
This year, the Rig & Yajur Veda Upakarma falls on August 21st, 2021.
Rig Upakarma and Yajurveda Upakarma:
Batch 1 – 6:00 am
Batch 2 – 7:00 am
Batch 3 – 8:00 am
Batch 4 – 9:00 am
Batch 5- 12:00 pm
Devotees can participate in Upakarma in any one of the five batches according to their convenience.
Note : All Participants must come in Dhoti-Angavastram and bring Panchapatra, Uddharani & Plate.
