Maha Shivaratri Vaibhavam- February 24th, 2017
OM NAMAH SHIVAYA!!!
Agamam aagi nindru annippan vaazhga!
Vedam nanginum meypporulavadhu nadhan namam Namah Shivaya!
Our temple is observing Maha Shivaratri Vaibhavam on Friday, February 24th 2017.
The occasion of Magha Trayodashi (13th day on the month of Magha in the Hindu calendar) is celebrated as Mahashivratri in the honor of Lord Shiva. ‘Maha’ means great and ‘Ratri’ means night. It is observed on the 13th night/14th day in the Krishna Paksha on the month of Phalgun (February – March). Thus, Mahashivratri translates to the great night of Lord Shiva.
Shivaratri Pooja has been given tremendous significance in Hindu mythology. It is believed that the people who fast on this night and offer prayers to Lord Shiva will bring good luck into their lives. Devotees further believe that by pleasing Lord Shankara on the auspicious Shivaratri day, a person is absolved of past sins and is blessed with Moksha or salvation.
We are pleased to inform you that the temple is organizing a Four Kala Poojai for Lord Kailasanathar on the auspicious day of Shivaratri at 7:00 pm onwards.
All devotees are cordially invited to attend with family and friends and partake the blessings of Lord Kailasanathar. Those who are willing to sponsor are requested to contact the temple directly.
